Medical acupuncture is a modern, anatomically-based application of acupuncture performed by a trained practitioner. Fine sterile single-use needles are placed at specific points to influence pain signalling, reduce muscle tone and stimulate local circulation and tissue healing.
Electro-acupuncture adds a gentle electrical current between needle pairs. The added stimulation is particularly useful for stubborn myofascial pain, nerve-related symptoms and persistent inflammation that has not responded to manual treatment alone.
Dr. Lee has practised medical acupuncture alongside chiropractic since 2006, and it is frequently combined with adjustment or soft-tissue work within the same visit rather than being offered in isolation.
